Lots Of Love For Local Pets!

Plymouth Helping Hands for Animals continues to be inspired by the incredible compassion and generosity shown throughout our community.

This week, we’re celebrating the many ways local businesses, organizations, and supporters are stepping up for pets and pet owners in need. From overflowing donation drives and creative fundraisers to heartwarming stories of pets receiving the care they deserve, every act of kindness creates a ripple effect that reaches across our community.

Because of this amazing support, we’re able to continue providing pet food assistance, help with veterinary care, and hope to local pets and the people who love them — one paw, one person, and one act of kindness at a time.

Three Trunks Full of Kindness!

We want to send a huge thank you to the Old Colony YMCA for hosting an incredibly successful two-week pet food drive!

Thanks to the generosity of YMCA members and our local community, we loaded THREE TRUNKFULS OF DONATIONS packed with cat and dog dry food, wet food, treats, toys, and so many wonderful supplies that will bring comfort and happiness to pets and pet owners throughout our area.

Partnerships like this mean so much to us — not only because they help stock our pet food pantry shelves, but because they help spread awareness about our mission. We always love meeting people in the community, sharing what we do, and hearing how much local residents care about helping pets in need.

Time and time again, we’re reminded that people truly want to help when they learn there are pets right here in our community struggling to access food and veterinary care.

We are so grateful to the Old Colony YMCA for supporting our mission and helping us spread the word about the growing need for pet food and veterinary assistance right here in our community. To everyone who donated, shared information about the drive, or stopped to chat with us — thank you for being part of this incredibly compassionate community.

Puppy Yoga + Helping Pets = A Perfect Match

We also want to give a special shout out to Twisted Spirit Yoga and Healing for raising over $1,000 for Plymouth Helping Hands for Animals through their Puppy Yoga fundraiser sessions!

Not one, but TWO puppy yoga classes sold out in record time — pawsitively pawsome! The excitement and energy surrounding these events have been incredible, and we are so grateful for the amazing support from our community.

Thank you to Twisted Spirit Yoga and Healing for turning wellness, puppy love, and community kindness into real support for local pets and pet owners in need. Be sure to check out all of the wonderful yoga classes and healing services they offer!

Local Superstar Spotlight: Michelle Koppang

We are incredibly proud and grateful to spotlight one of our friends and supporters, Michelle Pike Koppang, an outstanding local realtor who has made an amazing commitment to helping local pets in need.

Michelle has pledged to donate $250 to Plymouth Helping Hands for Animals for every real estate closing she has this year, with the funds specifically designated to help cover veterinary medical expenses for pet owners facing financial hardship.

Michelle’s support continues to make a real difference in our community, with $1,500 donated so far this year to help local pets in need. In recognition of her generosity and ongoing commitment to our mission, we are honored to have created the Michelle Koppang Compassionate Care Fund.

We are so grateful for the real impact Michelle continues to make in our community. Thank you, Michelle, for believing in our mission and helping local pets receive the care they deserve.

This Is What Community Care Looks Like

All of this incredible community support is what allows us to continue helping local pets receive the care they deserve during difficult times.

Recently, we were able to help Maximus — better known as Max — after his mom fell on hard financial times. Like so many pet owners, she simply wanted to make sure her beloved companion stayed healthy and cared for despite unexpected hardships.

We assisted Max with a wellness visit at Banfield Pet Hospital and provided several months of flea and tick prevention medication to help keep him healthy and protected.

Here are the kind words we received from Max’s mom:

“Cannot thank you and HH enough for your dedication, kindness and generosity in keeping pets happy and healthy in our community. So grateful to have had the honor and great pleasure of meeting some of your volunteers. Keep up the good work!”

Stories like Max’s are exactly what this community makes possible. Every donation, every shared post, and every volunteer hour helps local pets receive veterinary care, medication, food, and other essentials that keep them healthy and safely at home with the people who love them.

Thank you for continuing to support our mission, spread the word, donate, and volunteer so we can keep saying “yes” when local pets need us most. Every act of kindness truly matters.
