Happy Pawlidays!
The holidays are here! As you celebrate, we wanted to share a few quick reminders to help keep your furry family members safe. At Plymouth Helping Hands for Animals, supporting healthy pets is at the heart of what we do—so we’re popping in with some common holiday hazards to watch out for this season.
Holiday Hazards For Pets
We love seeing pets included in the holiday fun, but this time of year also brings some preventable dangers:
Festive Food ≠ Pet Food
Rich holiday dishes, bones, wrappers, and leftovers are among the top reasons pets end up at the vet during the holidays. When in doubt, stick to their regular meals.
Dangerous Decor
Ribbon, tinsel, fabric, and shiny ornaments are irresistible and dangerous if swallowed. Keep tempting decor out of reach.
Busy homes = Escape Risks
Guests coming and going mean more open doors. Double-check that collars, tags, and microchips are up to date.
Holiday Greens
Pine needles, holly, mistletoe, and poinsettias can cause stomach upset and worse. Opt for pet-safe decor when you can.
Party Hazards
Unattended drinks (especially alcohol) and lit candles can be dangerous for pets—keep them safely out of reach.
A little awareness goes a long way toward a safe, joyful holiday for everyone — paws included.
Wishing You And Your Pets A Safe, Happy Pawlidays!
We’ll be taking a short holiday paws and will be back in the new year. We can’t wait to kick things off with more furry stories, happy updates, and the impact you make possible!
