One Last Chance to Help Local Pets in 2025
As we approach the final stretch of the year, our mission has never felt more urgent — or more supported by compassionate people like you. What we’re seeing now is no longer a seasonal spike in need, but a steady increase in calls from local pet owners trying to keep their pets fed, healthy, and safe at home.
Behind every call is someone who loves their pet deeply — a senior on a fixed income, a family juggling bills, a neighbor navigating sudden medical expenses. And behind every answer we offer is you. Your generosity is what allows food bowls to stay full, pets to receive medical care, and pet owners to avoid the heartbreak of surrender.
So, as you think about year-end giving and meaningful ways to make a difference, we hope you’ll consider one last gift to support local pets and the people who love them.
What Your Donation Really Covers
With veterinary and pet supply costs continuing to climb, it helps to see exactly what dollars mean in action. Your gift directly purchases items we use constantly in our pet food pantries or covers an essential procedure as part of our veterinary medical assistance program.

Your donation makes a difference — one bowl, one vet visit, one pet at a time.
Why It Matters Right Now
Every visit to our pantries serves between 30–60 pet owners in need, and we’re purchasing food constantly just to keep up. At the same time, requests for help with veterinary care are higher than ever.
This month, we’re averaging three to four requests per day for veterinary assistance, food, or basic supplies. Those calls look like:
- A dog in pain needing a urgent care vet exam
- A cat with diabetes that requires daily insulin
- An emergency spay to treat the deadly pyometra infection
- A senior pet who needs bloodwork and vaccines to stay healthy
- A pet owner who can’t afford food until their next paycheck
Each request is different, but every one of them matters.
Your support allows us to say “yes, we can help.”
Compassion Has No Limits — Sharing Help Beyond Plymouth
Your kindness doesn’t just ripple through Plymouth — sometimes it reaches far beyond. Recently, we were offered more than 100 cases of Fresh Pet puppy food from the Stop & Shop Distribution Center in Assonet, thanks to Manager Joelle Defreitas.
Because this food required refrigeration we don't have, we reached out to another group serving animals in crisis. Our friends at PAWS New England, who rescue vulnerable dogs from severe neglect and high-risk shelters became the perfect partner.
On December 8, a refrigerated truck carrying 1,800 pounds of puppy food left Massachusetts headed to Memphis, Tennessee, where it will nourish dogs who have never known safety, consistency, or love.
That’s what collaboration looks like.
That’s what kindness looks like.
That’s what your support helps make possible.
A Final Ask In The Spirit of Giving
We know this is a season filled with requests from wonderful causes, and we are grateful every single time you choose to support local pets in need. When unexpected veterinary bills or even the cost of food push pet owners to their breaking point, many have nowhere else to turn. Your generosity becomes stability, relief, and hope.
As the year comes to a close, we’re asking you to help us enter 2026 strong — ready to say yes when the phone rings, yes when a pet needs medical care, and yes when a food pantry line forms.
Whether your gift is $10, $100, or $500, it translates directly into full bowls, essential vaccines, stocked pantries, and healthy pets who remain right where they belong: at home with the people who love them.
Thank you for standing with us, thank you for believing in this mission, and thank you for giving local pets a brighter start to the year ahead.
