This week we’re taking a moment to reflect on a truly meaningful day that brought so many people together in support of local pets in need.
The Kentucky Derby Party at Alden Park was an unforgettable celebration of compassion, generosity, and connection—made possible by the incredible support of our attendees, sponsors, volunteers, and donors.
While this was a one-time event, its impact will continue far beyond Derby Day—allowing us to continue providing life-saving veterinary care and pet food assistance to local pets and the people who love them.

A Derby Day To Remember
The celebration began with a lively red carpet entrance, where guests arrived dressed to impress in fabulous Derby hats and festive attire, greeted by plenty of excitement as they posed for the paparazzi and made their way into the event.
Once inside, guests settled into their seats to find thoughtful welcome gifts, party favors, festive hats, wine, and special gift bags generously provided by Jared Jewelers, Woodford Reserve, and Ketel One.
The energy only grew as appetizers were passed, drinks were poured, and guests mingled, laughed, and came together in support of local pets in need.
Throughout the day, there was no shortage of fun or friendly competition. Guests enjoyed a lively mix of activities and entertainment, including voting for their favorite decorated horse and a spectacular ice sculpture experience courtesy of Woodford Reserve. Interactive games kept the energy high with the Wheel of Wunder, a 50/50 raffle, “Watch My Dog” contest, and a $500 live lottery tree, all adding to the excitement and community spirit in the room. Guests also explored an incredible lineup of raffle prizes and silent auction items, with the lime green 2025 Kawasaki KX 450 motorcycle (valued at $10,000!) generously donated by Pillgrim Power Sports quickly becoming a crowd favorite and generating plenty of buzz.
One of the most talked-about experiences of the day was the “Diamond in the Rosé”—where guests purchased a glass of rosé paired with a mystery jewelry bag, each hoping to hold the lucky bag containing a dazzling $10,000 diamond donated by Rose Jewelers. Excitement carried throughout the event as anticipation built around who might uncover the winning bag. In a truly unforgettable twist, the diamond was not discovered during the event itself, sparking days of speculation until the lucky winner eventually brought their bag to Rose Jewelers for verification—and walked away with a story (and smile) they’ll never forget.
The day ended on a sweet note with a beautiful cake and delicious desserts generously provided by our friends at Montilio’s, bringing a perfect close to a fabulous celebration.
Lucky winners were celebrated all day long—but truly, we felt like the luckiest of all to be part of such an incredible, successful, and community-driven event, all in support of helping local pets receive the care they need most.
More Than A Celebration
While the day was filled with excitement and meaningful moments, it also served a much greater purpose. Every ticket, bid, donation, and sponsorship directly supports our mission to provide pet food assistance and life-saving veterinary care for local pets in need.
