Big Weekend, Big Impact!

As we head into one of the most exciting weekends of the year, we just want to take a moment to thank this amazing community that continues to show up for us week after week, event after event, and all year long!

This weekend we're kicking off the biggest fundraiser we have ever been involved in—The Kentucky Derby Party hosted by Alden Park Restaurant—followed by a fun community event at the YMCA and the launch of a week-long pet food drive that helps keep our pet food pantries stocked.

Whether you’re joining in the fun this weekend or cheering us on from afar, this is what our mission is all about—showing up, having fun, and making a real impact for local pets and the people who care for them.

The Main Event: Kentucky Derby Party Tomorrow!

The Kentucky Derby Party hosted Alden Park is here—and it’s happening tomorrow, May 2nd!

This event is our biggest fundraiser to date, and we’re incredibly grateful to Alden Park for selecting us as their 2026 charitable beneficiary. Alden Park has been supporting local nonprofits with this Red Carpet event for 15 years! It’s a major part of what allows us to continue providing pet food and veterinary assistance to local pet owners throughout the year.

We can’t wait to see guests dressed to impress, strutting down the red carpet, posing for the “paparazzi,” and enjoying an afternoon full of celebration! From exciting games and pawsome prize opportunities to delicious food and drinks provided by Alden Park, it’s shaping up to be a furrrtastic day—all in support of a meaningful cause.

LAST CALL! If you’ve been thinking about going, there may still be time to grab a ticket—check the link below.

Big Trucks, Big Fun: Touch A Truck This Sunday!

We’re thrilled to continue partnering with the Old Colony YMCA and to be featured at their Touch A Truck event this Sunday, May 3rd from 10:00 AM–1:00 PM.

This is a fun, family-friendly event filled with big trucks, hands-on activities, and plenty to explore—and it’s also a great opportunity to connect with us and learn more about the work we do in the community. Our volunteers will be on site sharing information about our mission and collecting pet food donations.

This event also kicks off our week-long pet food drive at the YMCA in support of our pet food pantries. If you’re planning to attend, bringing a pet food donation is a simple and meaningful way to make an immediate impact for local pets and the people who care for them.

Pet Food Donation Drive at the YMCA: May 4th-11th

We’re excited to carry that momentum straight into our week-long pet food drive starting the very next day. Donation bins will be located inside the Old Colony YMCA lobby, and items can be dropped off during regular business hours.

These drives are essential to keeping our three pet food pantries stocked and running strong. Every donation helps ensure local pet owners have access to the support they need to care for their pets.

If you’re stopping by the YMCA during the week, we’d love your help in filling bowls across the community by dropping off a donation.

Why This Weekend Matters

Every event, every donation, and every shared moment of support helps make one thing possible: keeping pets in the homes where they are loved.

When pet owners face unexpected challenges, access to food or veterinary care can make all the difference. Together, these efforts ensure we can step in when it matters most—and keep tails wagging across our community.

If you’re looking for a way to get involved this weekend, donations, event attendance, and even sharing our mission all make a real difference.

Weekends like this remind us how powerful a connected community can be. Big weekend, big impact—and we’re so grateful to have you as part of it.
