Care That Goes Beyond Cupid

Valentine’s Day is all about love: sweet gestures, full hearts, and showing the people and pets in our lives just how much they
mean to us.

But what if love could go even further this year?

What if it could help a local pet stay warm, well-fed, and healthy? What if it could keep a beloved companion at home with the person who loves them most?

Through our Share the Love & Sponsor a Pet Fundraiser, you can turn a simple Valentine's Day gesture into something lasting: supplies for our pet food pantries, wellness care that prevents illness or catches something early, or even urgent medical treatment when a pet owner doesn’t know where else to turn.

Because love isn’t just something we feel.

It’s something we do.

This February, we’re working toward our goal of sponsoring 100 local pets. If your heart has room for one more act of kindness, we hope you’ll help us share the love.

When pets are healthy, safe, and cared for, that’s love in action.
And when you extend that care to another local pet in need, that’s
compassion that goes beyond Cupid.

Be The Valentine A Pet Needs

Love looks different for every pet — a full bowl of food, medicine that helps an aging body feel better, or the reassurance of routine care that keeps them thriving.

Every day, we receive calls from loving pet owners who are doing their very best but need a little help to keep their pets safe, healthy, and at home.

When you sponsor a pet through our fundraiser, your gift becomes that reassurance. You help stock our pet food pantry shelves, provide essential vaccines and wellness exams, and give lifesaving support when it's needed most. That kind of care truly changes lives.

This fundraiser runs all month long, with plenty of ways to make an impact. We’ll also be at The Market at The Pinehills on Saturday, February 21, from 12–4 PM, collecting donations and sharing more about how this campaign supports local pets and the pet owners who rely on us. If you’re in the area, we’d love to see you — come say hello and help us keep the love going!

Show Your Pets Some Love

Valentine’s Day is the perfect reminder to show your love through care that keeps your pet safe, healthy, and happy. Here are some ways to put that love into action.

Avoid toxic treats: Chocolate, candy, grapes, raisins, and some baked goods can be harmful or even deadly to pets. Keep all sweets out of reach.

Support heart and overall health: Regular exercise, a balanced diet, and preventative medications — including heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives — help protect your pet from serious health issues.

Stay on top of veterinary care: Routine check-ups, vaccinations, and wellness exams allow early detection of problems and help your pet stay healthy longer.

Choose pet-safe plants and decor: Holiday decorations, flowers, and small objects can pose risks. Keep pets away from ribbon, tinsel, lilies, and other toxic plants or items they might ingest.
Also, make sure to monitor “toy time” — a pet can become dangerously ill from ingesting pieces of their toys. Abdominal obstructions are not an uncommon occurrence.

Monitor stress and behavior: Extra visitors, noise, or changes in routine can be stressful. Provide a quiet, comfortable space and watch for changes in appetite, energy, or mood.

Even small steps can make a big difference in your pet’s well-being and show them just how much you care, this Valentine’s Day and every day.

Thank you for all the ways you show love to pets in our community. Your care truly makes a difference.
